Autonomous power architecture
The PowerGuard series is developed to secure stable and continuous operation of critical electrical systems installed directly on each cage.
The solution consists of a distributed, cage-mounted and autonomous three-phase power and control architecture that maintains power supply to critical installations if external power is lost.
By placing energy reserve and control locally on each cage, every cage functions as an electrically independent energy cell. This ensures uninterrupted operation of underwater lights, cameras, communication systems and other critical electronics.
System modules
Intake cabinet that receives power from an external source and distributes it throughout the system.
Robust power supply platform with integrated energy reserve that automatically maintains operation when ordinary power supply fails.
Optional battery expansion module connected to PowerGuard Mega when additional energy reserve and longer backup runtime are required.
Intelligent operation
To achieve full autonomous functionality and intelligent light control, Havida Sense PDU is used as a local power distribution and control unit.
Together with the Solaris underwater lighting series — Solaris 6K, Solaris 40K and Solaris 80K — the system enables automatic dimming logic during backup operation.
During power outages, light levels are automatically reduced in a controlled manner to maintain stable lighting conditions while optimising available battery capacity.
The PowerGuard system is compatible with all types of cage-mounted electrical installations and systems.
Key functions
Each cage operates as its own electrical energy cell, eliminating central single points of failure and preventing faults from affecting multiple cages.
During external power loss, the system automatically switches to battery operation within milliseconds, keeping underwater lights and critical systems running continuously.
When combined with Havida Sense PDU and Solaris underwater lighting, brightness is automatically reduced to predefined levels during backup operation.
Cameras, sensors and communication equipment remain operational during power outages, ensuring uninterrupted monitoring and remote control.
The modular architecture is designed for direct cage installation and makes it easy to expand battery capacity and adapt the system to different operational needs.
Why choose Havida PowerGuard?
The PowerGuard series is developed specifically for demanding marine environments and modern aquaculture operations. The result is high operational reliability, stable lighting for improved fish welfare and continuous access to monitoring and control — even during external power loss.
