With the new agreement, Havida will deliver a complete solution featuring feeding cameras and integrated communication systems to Cermaq’s fish farms along the Northern Norwegian coastline.

The contract with salmon producer Cermaq is the largest agreement Havida has signed to date, and the first installations are already underway.

– In an otherwise uncertain time, this agreement with one of Norway’s largest seafood producers is a very welcome project for our company. It secures jobs, creates stability for families, and helps keep the lights on in our communities, says Tomas Sund, CEO of the technology company Havida, which delivers monitoring equipment and control systems to the blue industry.

Senior Buyer and Category Manager at Cermaq, Vegar Hakstad, explains that supply reliability was a key factor in why they chose to sign with the Brønnøysund-based company.

– Everything Havida produces and delivers is made here in Norway. If there is one thing we have learned over the past few years, it is the importance of local suppliers who can secure production, says Hakstad, adding:

– Reliable deliveries and high quality throughout the entire process are increasingly important criteria for us in our procurement decisions.

Unique Solutions

Havida’s product, Havida Sense, offers unique solutions for monitoring and operating Cermaq’s fish farms. The product has been developed over many years in close collaboration with the aquaculture industry.

– Havida Sense is a complete ecosystem for monitoring and communication out at the fish farm. We have gathered all technology into one cabinet solution that provides full control over everything from fish feeding to monitoring and operational management in one place, explains Sund.

Sund says they are proud to have secured this contract with Cermaq after competing with many other suppliers.

Vegar Hakstad believes it is commendable that Havida can remain competitive in such an international market as aquaculture has become.

– Employment and economic activity in rural Norway are extremely important for the aquaculture industry and for us at Cermaq. This contract highlights exactly that, concludes Hakstad.
